A Texas high school welding lab was seeking a replacement for their old ventilation system, which consisted of hoods above the welding processes, all connected to a collector located outside the building. For their new welding ventilation system, the school streamlined the lab with very flexible and user-friendly Weldtrons from Clean Air Consultants. Weldtrons are individual backdraft workstations with complete integrated filter systems, and they only need to be plugged in to be ready to use. They are easily positioned or re-positioned in the lab. Their standard panel filters are easy to change, and are designed to last an entire school year. And because the clean, filtered air is recirculated within the room, the air temperature and comfort of the room can be more efficiently maintained.

The high school welding instructor was very happy with the performance of the new Weldtrons. Instead of the weld smoke floating up and around the students as they work, the smoke and fumes are immediately pulled away from the students into the backdraft inlets of the Weldtrons. Also, the instructor says the Weldtrons are so quiet in their operation that while students are welding, they can hear the instructor speaking as he walks down the line. "The Weldtrons have worked very well for us."
